Photographs

The Pottstown Historical Society photograph collection, circa 1850-2016, is comprised of original and copy photographs in various formats, including paper prints, film negatives, and panoramas.

The Pottstown Historical Society hosts numerous maps including Sanborn maps going back to the early 19th century. These maps include county maps and town maps.

The Pottstown Historical Society collection includes Pottstown City Directories, church histories, borough tax and legal records, as well as Pennsylvania state records and family histories and genealogies.

Our newspaper collection includes selections from the Montgomery Ledger and Pottstown Mercury newspapers. We also have selections from the Pottstown Blade and other miscellaneous materials.

Census Records

We have census records from Philadelphia, Berks, Bucks, Chester, and Montgomery Counties for various years as well as other sources in our collection.

Potts – Rutter Family Papers

This collection consists of scattered original papers of Potts and Rutter family members, as well as some genealogical research on the family. The original papers include indentures and deeds (1714-1882), correspondence, marriage certificates, and other miscellaneous documents.

Pottstown Iron Papers

This collection is comprised of financial records and correspondence of the Pottstown Iron Company The financial records consist of a large number of bills paid, stock certificates and dividends; and a small number of various account, bank, tax, and insurance records.

This collection is comprised of records, reminiscences, photographs, and a scrapbook relating to the Civil War and the Spanish-American War collected by the Pottstown Historical Society.
